Haugesund About Haugesund and the Region of Haugalandet

The city of Haugesund has many unique qualities.
It is a charming, medium sized Norwegian city with
traditional timber built houses, offering shops, bars
and many other attractions. Haugesund is the city
centre of the region Haugalandet – communities:
Karmøy, Haugesund, Tysvær, Sveio, Bokn, Vindafjord,
Etne, Sauda and Utsira.

Utsira About the Island of Utsira

Utsira is Norway's smallest local authority with a population of
app. 240 inhabitants. The island community is situated in the
North Sea, 18 km. west of Haugesund, and is home to a
protected coastal landscape and the most elevated lighthouse
in the country. A very special island!

The island of Stord is situated at the entrance to Hardanger
Fjord, with the North Sea to the west and Folgefonna Glacier
to the east. It lies between Bergen and Haugesund and is the
